DOGS: Well behaved dogs are welcomed at Away in the County for a fee of $250 plus taxes for up to 2 dogs per stay.

WE HAVE A POOL: 12 feet x 22 feet x 52” deep aboveground pool with a massive cedar deck surround with mulitple lounge chairs and shaded area. Just steps from the back door and patio.

Away in the County is situated on the tranquil shores of East Lake in the village of Cherry Valley. Recently featured on HGTV, this unique Prince Edward County retreat has been creatively renovated by its owners, Susan and Glen Wallis to accommodate guests who want to get “away” from it all.

With a décor of elegant simplicity, the spacious guest rooms have well-appointed private baths and stunning views of East Lake and the gardens. Guests are encouraged to linger on the expansive marble terrace or wander through the gardens to the patio by the lake where they may catch sight of a swan gliding by or take time to read a book or magazine from the library’s extensive collection.

Wineries, farm markets, shops, and art galleries are nearby attractions. Away is a mere 10 minutes from the beautiful beaches of Sandbanks Provincial Park, 12 minutes to the shopping village of Bloomfield and less than 10 minutes to restaurants, shops and the heritage Regent Theatre in the town of Picton.
