Susan Wallis, encaustic artist

Susan is  an accomplished encaustic artist who shows her work at galleries across Canada and is collected internationally.  Some of her works are for sale on the walls at Away. B&B guests are also welcome to peek into her studio located on the property.

Susan is the first point of contact for Away in the County guests. She will assist you in designing the perfect County vacation, suggesting itineraries, along with dining suggestions. Susan is up to date on local events and new businesses.  She is also the curator of the interior of AWAY.  From art, (both her own and from their private collection), to books, to artifacts and memorabilia.  Guests enjoy and comment on the lovely touches to the rooms like the picnic basket, ready to go when off to the beach, and the fresh flowers  from the Away gardens.  And yes, Susan is the “B” for bed at Away Bed and Breakfast.  The 100% cotton sheets from Florence are washed  and hung outside, dried  and then  steamed crisp on the beds providing the most luxurious sleep experience.  When not busy in her studio Susan can be found weeding the AWAY flower garden.

NEW! Susan is excited to announce the opening of MelT Studio & Gallery located at Base31, a previous WWII airforce trining camp. Drop by and see Susan’s work along with other talented Canadian artists. Also check out PAUSE, her nature & art experience.
